To optimize its security functions Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 offers a backup. Using the backup function you can reverse all changes made to the the Windows® registry or important changes of the system configuration. Redundant  files (e.g. temporary files) are not saved here. The program itself creates backups when necessary and stores them with a short description and the time they where created.  

 

Where to find the backup

The backup is located in the main menu as well as in the list of tab at the bottom of the user interface.

How to use the backup function

Undoing changes is simple. Take a quick glance at the description and creation date, then select the desired backup with a mouse click and select Restore, in order to restore the former status. If there are too many backups (and you slowly lose track of them) or if you are absolutely sure that you want keep the current settings, then you can delete the backups by clicking on Delete.

Delete old backups should help you to stay on top of things. There it’s possible to delete older backups. Depending on the settings all backups are deleted that are older than 7 / 14 / 30 days. If you click on the small arrow (see picture below), you can adjust the settings. Refresh causes the program to search for backups again and to display those.
