Security
Because of the great complexity of Windows®, identifying redundant files, registry entries and other redundant items is far from a straightforward process. Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 uses very fast and intelligent scanning algorithms that reliably identify genuinely redundant items in the vast majority of cases. Unfortunately, it is impossible for any program of this type to guarantee 100% accuracy. Even Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 will occasionally make a mistake and identify an item that is actually needed as redundant.
This is no problem! Everything that Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 deletes can be restored or recovered, if the appropriate options and settings are activated. All deleted registry entries are automatically backed up to special undo files, all your Internet connection settings are automatically backed up to recovery files the first time you use Internet Tuner, and all deleted files and other hard disk items are first moved to the Recycle Bin where they can be recovered, if necessary.
The only exception to this is the File Wiper module, the purpose of which is to delete files and folders permanently so that they cannot be recovered. It is not possible to create backups or to move deleted items to the recycle bin with this module, as this would make File Wiper useless!
Less experienced Windows® users can use the One-Click-Optimization in order to optimizer their system automatically, quickly and safely. The default settings of Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 are very secure and can already achieve amazing cleaning performance. Therefore it is not absolutely necessary to adjust the cleaning functions and search or exception rules. Experienced users can adjust numerous other option in the search and deletion processes.
