Settings
The Registry Optimizer with its default settings covers the conventional security requirements, without neglecting the deletion of redundant entries. However, if you need a more detailed configuration, go to Settings in this module (see image below). There you can exclude special types of redundant registry entries from the scan (just disable the checkbox just in front of each listed type). For further information move on to the links at the end of this page.
Entries To search for orphaned entries select the register entry elements, that are to be searched for in the registry database. The following sections provide further information on different orphaned registry entries in the registry that you can select in the list you can see below.
Define exceptions
Although Ashampoo WinOptimizer 9 put the highest value on the greatest possible safety and uses a save and effektive search algorithm that was developed in extensive test series, the program is not unfailing. It is possible that found entries are marked unnecessary, although your they are still needed on your system with your system configuration. In this case you can reset changes in the Backup. If these entries should not be displayed after a search in the future, you can define exceptions. Make a left mouse click on the entry to select it. Then make a right mouse click on the selected entry and a context menu will open (see image below). There you can define the entry as exception clicking on the appropriate option in the menu.
The exceptions that you defined can be found in Exceptions (in Settings) and can also be deleted, if necessary. Just select the appropriate item and click on delete.
