Clicking on Sounds in the Control Panel displays a dialog with which you can assign sounds to a wide variety of events in both Windows® and other applications. These sounds are stored in WAV files (sound files with the .wav extension).

If a WAV file registered as a system sound is deleted, either manually or by an application it is no longer possible to find and play the sound. The associated registry entry becomes useless and can be safely deleted.

Activating this option tells Registry Optimizer to find orphaned system sounds entries in the registry so that you can delete them.
